The children's accordeon orchestra of St.-Petersburg Central Region was founded in 1955.
Since then many of its participants have become professional musicians including the present
orchestra leaders Maestro Victor Galich and Maestro Galina Uliyanova.
Many times this orchestra was a winner and awarded by diplomas at various festivals,
competitions and examinations.In 1996 it was a laureate of the third Christmas Festival
of Children's Art which took place in St.-Petersburg.
The orchestra renews its repertoire regularly and enriches it including in its performances
the Russian classical musicand the world classical music, folk songs and works of modern
composers.Many years the orchestra keeps close relations with well known native composer
Igor Tsvetkov
Musicians here play not only accordion and the bayan ( russian type of accordion)
but also play the bass-guitar,the synthesizers and the percussion instruments.
In the arrangements of Russian folk songs they include traditional national musical
instruments: pipe, zhaleyka and percussion: wooden spoons, rattle,roubel, tambourine.
The orchestra has gained experience to perform for various audiences:schools,clubs,
big concert halls. Most of its performances are a success and they givepleasure both to
listeners and the musicians of the orchestra.
There is no doubt that a musical present from St.-Petersburg will give those who is fond
of music many pleasant impressions.
